Warps are abnormal growths in wood, usually caused by stress, injury, or parasites (such as fungi or insects). The wood fibers grow in an irregular pattern, creating a distinctive, wavy pattern in the wood.

The wood from such warps, called "warp wood," is often used to make ornaments, furniture, or other crafts because of its unique pattern.
